Nutrisi sebagai Faktor Pendukung Aktivitas Biologis Larva Tenebrio molitor dalam Potensi Pemanfaatannya untuk Biodegradasi Styrofoam

Styrofoam merupakan sampah plastik berbasis polistirena yang sulit terurai secara alami. Salah satu alternatif pengelolaannya adalah pemanfaatan larva Tenebrio molitor sebagai agen biodegradasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran penambahan nutrisi dalam mendukung aktivitas biologis larva pada media yang mengandung styrofoam. Penelitian dilakukan selama 20 hari menggunakan perlakuan kontrol, asam amino, probiotik, soybean lecithin, dan tanpa nutrisi. Parameter yang diamati meliputi suhu, pH, pertumbuhan larva, dan konsumsi sampah sisa makanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh perlakuan mengalami peningkatan massa larva, dengan pertumbuhan tertinggi pada perlakuan soybean lecithin sebesar 129,5 g dan terendah pada perlakuan tanpa nutrisi sebesar 111,5 g. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa penambahan nutrisi mendukung aktivitas biologis larva pada media yang mengandung styrofoam. Kemampuan larva untuk tetap tumbuh menunjukkan potensi pemanfaatan Tenebrio molitor sebagai agen biodegradasi sampah styrofoam.
