Publication Ethics Statement

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Jurnal Serambi Engineering (JSE) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. JSE aligns its editorial policies with the Core Practices set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Responsibilities of Authors

Originality & No Plagiarism: Authors must submit strictly original research. Verbatim quotes and borrowed data must be properly cited. Plagiarism, data fabrication, and falsification are unacceptable.
No Concurrent Submission: Authors must not submit manuscripts to more than one journal concurrently. Submissions previously published elsewhere will be rejected immediately.
Authorship Integrity: All listed authors must meet the ICMJE criteria. Any changes in authorship after submission must be approved in writing by all authors.

2. Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal competing interests that might be seen as influencing the research findings. Reviewers and editors must likewise recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where competing interests exist.

3. Responsibilities of Editors and Reviewers

  • Fair Evaluation: Editors and reviewers evaluate manuscripts without regard to race, gender, nationality, or political belief.
  • Confidentiality: Unpublished manuscripts and review communications are strictly confidential and must not be used for personal advantage.
  • Constructive Reviewing: Reviewers provide rigorous, evidence-based feedback within agreed timeframes.

4. Handling Allegations of Misconduct

The Editorial Board follows COPE flowcharts to investigate allegations of research misconduct (plagiarism, ghost authorship, data manipulation). When substantiated, editorial sanctions, official corrections, or article retractions will be applied transparently.
