Sintesis Pupuk Organik Cair dari Yeast Mud

Yeast mud merupakan limbah padat hasil samping produksi bioetanol yang mengandung karbon organik sebesar 37,2% dan nitrogen total sebesar 1,10% dalam jumlah yang cukup signifikan, namun rasio C/N awalnya sebesar 33,82 jauh melampaui kisaran 15–25 yang dipersyaratkan Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) No. 261/KPTS/SR.310/M/4/2019 untuk pupuk organik cair (POC). Penelitian ini bertujuan mensintesis POC dari yeast mud melalui proses dua tahap secara berurutan, yakni solubilisasi menggunakan asam sitrat 1% yang dilanjutkan dengan biodegradasi aerobik melalui aerasi. Variabel yang dikaji meliputi massa yeast mud (100–500 g) dan durasi aerasi (4–20 jam) pada laju alir udara tetap sebesar 1,5 L/menit. Kelarutan yeast mud dalam asam sitrat 1% mencapai 98,70–99,30% sejak jam keempat melalui mekanisme hidrolisis simultan pada fraksi protein, karbohidrat, dan lipid, serta kompleksasi mineral oleh gugus karboksilat asam sitrat. Aerasi selanjutnya secara progresif menurunkan kadar C-organik dari 37,2% menjadi 18,20–24,60% dan meningkatkan kadar nitrogen total dari 1,10% menjadi 1,52–1,65% pada jam ke-20, sehingga rasio C/N turun dari 33,82 menjadi 11,03–16,18. Seluruh kombinasi perlakuan memenuhi persyaratan SNI pada jam ke-20, dengan kondisi optimum paling efisien diperoleh pada massa yeast mud 100 g dan waktu aerasi 12 jam, menghasilkan POC dengan C-organik 24,80%, nitrogen total 1,46%, rasio C/N 16,99, dan pH 6.
