Review Penuaan Hidrolitik pada Poliester Alifatik Biodegradabel: Mekanisme, Perubahan Struktur, dan Prediksi Umur Pakai Berbasis Arrhenius

Abstract

Poliester alifatik biodegradable, meliputi polylactic acid (PLA), poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA), poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV), dan poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL), semakin banyak digunakan pada bidang kemasan dan biomedis karena memiliki sifat biodegradabel dan biokompatibel. Review ini membahas prediksi umur pakai poliester alifatik biodegradable berbasis model Arrhenius pada kondisi penuaan hidrolitik. Berbagai literatur dianalisis untuk mengkaji mekanisme degradasi hidrolitik, evolusi struktur material, teknik karakterisasi, kriteria akhir masa pakai, dan penerapan model Arrhenius dalam prediksi umur pakai untuk poliester alifatik biodegradable. Hasil telaah menunjukkan adanya hubungan berurutan antara difusi air, hidrolisis ikatan ester, chain scission, penurunan berat molekul, perubahan kristalinitas, perubahan struktur kimia, dan penurunan sifat mekanik. Selain itu, review ini membandingkan berbagai parameter yang digunakan selama degradasi hidrolitik, seperti berat molekul, kristalinitas, struktur kimia, sifat tarik, dan berat molekul. Review ini juga membahas peran parameter sebagai indikator degradasi, kriteria akhir masa pakai, dan parameter kinetika dalam prediksi umur pakai berbasis Arrhenius. Review ini memberikan perspektif terpadu yang menghubungkan mekanisme degradasi, evolusi struktur material, dan kegagalan mekanik sebagai dasar untuk meningkatkan keandalan prediksi umur pakai poliester alifatik biodegradable berbasis model Arrhenius.
