Corrections & Retractions Policy
Post-Publication Discussion, Correction and Retraction Policy
Jurnal Serambi Engineering (JSE) is committed to preserving the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of the scientific record. In accordance with guidelines issued by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the journal maintains transparent mechanisms to handle post-publication discussions, scholarly corrections, and article retractions.
1. Post-Publication Discussion
JSE welcomes constructive, evidence-based academic discussion, critique, and commentary regarding published articles. Readers and researchers may submit formal letters to the editor pointing out methodological considerations or alternative interpretations.
Letters of critique should be directed to serambiengineering@serambimekkah.ac.id with the subject Post-Publication Discussion: [Article Title / DOI]. Original authors will be granted the opportunity to submit a rejoinder.
2. Corrections (Erratum / Corrigendum)
A formal Correction is issued when an honest error or omission occurs (e.g., typographical error, mislabeled figure, author name spelling, or grant acknowledgment omission) that does not alter the fundamental scientific conclusions of the article.
The original article is updated or linked bidirectionally with a dedicated Correction notice that transparently explains the modification made and the date of correction.
3. Retractions
Following the COPE Retraction Guidelines, a published article will be retracted if:
- There is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of major scientific error or fabrication/falsification of data;
- The article constitutes plagiarism (overlap with previously published works without proper attribution);
- The research was published previously without proper disclosure, permission, or justification (duplicate publication);
- It contains compromised peer-review or major breaches of copyright.
