Abstract

Effective Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Risk Management is an important factor in creating a safe working environment and improving the quality of hospital services. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of OSH risk management implementation at Prima Husada Sukorejo Hospital, a type C hospital, focusing on physical, biological, and psychosocial hazards. The research employs a mixed-method approach through procedure observation, analysis of work incident data over one year (9 incidents), and distribution of questionnaires to 70 hospital staff that have been tested for validity and reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.682). Risk analysis is conducted using the Hazard Operability Risk (HOR) framework. The results show a high compliance with technical procedures such as the use of PPE and medical waste management. However, a significant gap was found, which is the absence of formal procedures for addressing psychosocial risks such as stress and work fatigue, which are assessed to have a high risk level. Other extreme risks identified include nosocomial infections, as well as a high risk of needle-stick injuries and cross infections. In conclusion, risk management against physical and biological hazards is going well, but the control of psychosocial risks is still weak. Structural intervention strategies are needed to manage work stress and build a sustainable safety culture.
